Does anyone know where I can buy distressed wood, for building an antique looking structure?
I want to build a wooden outdoor canopy that we can hang plants from and put wooden outdoor furniture under. I saw something similar in Bisbee, AZ this past weekend and it was very old and antique looking. It would be very simple to build but the hard part is finding the right wood. I’m looking for something that is alread weathered and distressed. All the distressed wood I see online looks like it is brand new and got dropped on the floor one too many times. If you know of anything in the Phoenix or Desert Hills area, let me know.
Best place to find it is washed up on a beach. A few years floating at sea does a great job of ageing the wood and it’s free.
Shame your in Phoenix. Maybe you have friends who live close to the beach.
